5 day workshop with mosaic master Marzia Truant

Dear mosaic lovers and -friends,

I’m happy to announce that Marzia Truant is coming to the Netherlands to teach her, very interesting and
intensive, COLOR THEORY workshop. April 16-20, 2020
A 5 day workshop in which we will learn:

The color theory applied to mosaic art is particularly important for mosaic artists who are always in search of new approaches to their composition and color and have intrinsic features with can not be ignored.

The color theory as teached in Spilimbergo school will be explored by a brief theoretical introduction and applied working on optical mixtures of primary and secondary colors creating vibrating surfaces.

This workshop focusses on the color theory as applied to mosaic. You will create a mosaic of 25 x 25 cm.
When the mosaic is finished we will work and study a sampleboard demonstrating these techniques and we will start to talk about second step: how to switch from one color to another and work on some samples.

The mosaic we create will be a gradient of colors that form an abstract work and will work and translate the sample attached or a similar design.
We will learn to identify the colors that, when mixed, create a third color (when viewed from a distance).

In this seminary we will approach the systems to “construct color”, we will introduce the color synthesis, additive and subtractive, the primary colors related to them and which system fits to mosaic art and what aspects we need to keep in mind.
Palette, combinations, mix of color and color gradation will be explored with a brief theoretical introduction and a hands-on approach and exercises designed to gain greater ease in applying color into the work.

Maestro Marzia Truant will explain techniques to make colors work together, to be more vibrant or subtle, bold or harmonious.
